Wang Jingtao

Strategic Study of CAE 2006, Volume 8, Issue 9,   Pages 24-29

Abstract:

The paper proposed a principle of interaction between plastic volume strains of and shear for rockEspecially, the manners of the interaction between plastic volume strain and shear strain, the directeffect of plastic volume strain on the resistance to shear, the conditions of generating contractionvolume strain and shear and its verification, and the fact that the critical state is a pure shearingprocess, in which the plastic and elastic volume strains remain constant, were demonstrated.

A model for creep life prediction of thin tube using strain energy density as a function of stress triaxialityunder quasi-static loading employing elastic-creep & elastic-plastic-creep deformation

Tahir MAHMOOD, Sangarapillai KANAPATHIPILLAI, Mahiuddin CHOWDHURY

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering 2013, Volume 8, Issue 2,   Pages 181-186 doi: 10.1007/s11465-013-0257-7

Abstract: The model employs strain energy density and assumes that the uniaxial strain energy density of a componentcan be easily calculated and can be converted to multi-axial strain energy density by multiplying itto a function of stress trixiality which is a ratio of mean stress to equivalent stress. For comparison, an elastic-creep and elastic-plastic-creep finite element analysis (FEA) is performedto get multi-axial strain energy density of the component which is compared with the calculated strain

A modified zone model for estimating equivalent room thermal capacity

Hua CHEN, Xiaolin WANG

Frontiers in Energy 2013, Volume 7, Issue 3,   Pages 351-357 doi: 10.1007/s11708-013-0254-x

Abstract: The zone model has been widely applied in control analysis of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to achieve a high building efficiency. This paper proposed a modified zone model which is much simpler in the HVAC system simulation and has the similar accuracy to the complicated simulation model. The proposed model took into consideration the effect of envelop heat reservoir on the room indoor temperature by introducing the thermal admittance of the inner surfaces of the building enclosure. The thermal admittance for the building enclosure was developed based on the building thermal network analytical theory and transfer function method. The efficacy of the proposed model was demonstrated by comparing it with the complicated model — heat balance method (HTB2 program). The predicted results from the proposed model well agreed with those from the complicated simulation. The proposed model can then make the HVAC system dynamic simulation much faster and more acceptable for control design due to its simplicity and efficiency.

Abstract:

The development of geotechnical plasticity is reviewed and some problems of applying the classic plasticBy giving up the three hypotheses, a generalized plastic potential theory can be obtained from solidmechanics directly, and then the traditional plastic mechanics can be changed to a more generalized plasticmechanics, namely generalized plastic mechanics (GPM).The yield surface theory, hardening laws and stress-strain relations of GPM are given, and a GPM including
